13 years in the business and she still opens all the shows!

Carol Gracias is India's Kate Moss. In the sense that she will never stop working in fashion unless she decides to stop because they need her. She closes or opens almost every show that she is a part of since ummm 1998! I'm happy for her because she makes big face money I'm sure but I think it is kind of sad that in a country of more than 1 billion the quality of models is such that we put this burden on one model. Luckily for us unlike most of the senior lot of girls she has a fantastic body, she is extremely professional and has a great sense of personal style. She also mentors a lot of young girls who enter the industry while, again, a lot of working models are too insecure to do the same. In our country there is no expiration date for models. There really should be though because they don't choose to bow out graciously. But hear me Carol,"You shouldn't! It is a burden you just have to bear."
Carol will be coming to Paris soon. And then I will click heaps of pictures to show you her amazing street style. For now deal with these juicy bits of paper.

I would like to add that India has great models noteably Lakshmi and Ujjwala who exploded in the fashion meccas like NY and Paris as well as models like Sapna Kumar and Jyothsna who can easily do the same. Later Gators:)

1 euro dress? No stress.

I thrifted this dress for one whole euro. It caused me a lot of humiliation the first time I wore it because it dropped down to my knees but it is so comfortable and feels like second skin so I might consider wearing it again.

I know leopard print is very much in but I'm not too big on leopard prints except this dress by Goa based designer Savio Jon. I think it is one of the most overused pieces in my wardrobe but that doesn't bother me too much:)

Undercover lady lover.

I know I have been slacking but I so rarely get to see my family that I have to spend every waking moment with them to make up for lost time. But today I crossed 5000 viewers!!! So that warranted a post to show my appreciation. Most of my readers are from France, United States, U.K., India(in that order) and then smaller quantities of other countries. I don't know what it is about India but colours seem so much more here. These are today's purchases. Could have bought much more but 33 degree weather is a tad bit too desperate even for me to go shopping.

Today was a day overflowing with love, spirit, smiles and heart. It was a very private ceremony so out of respect this is all I will show. But I think you will still feel what I felt.

Ummm I'm aware the pictures of me are bizarre with all the cropping but its the only way I could show me in a sari. And it ain't going to happen anytime soon(¨,)

Hermaphrodites and juicy bites.

Today I went to my bestie's house to get my mehndi done. Its a tradition for alot of indian weddings and it is a fun, woman bonding kind of event. Of course 2 boys snuck into our party and 6 hermaphrodites tried to sneak in but didn't succeed( I need another blog to explain why hermaphrodites do this but its harmless). Alas I couldn't take too many pictures as my hands were getting beautified and I joined 3 year old triplets in stuffing our faces. Yes I roll with 3 year olds. They take me more seriously(¨,)
Tomorrow I will attempt to wear a sari. You asked so don't say I didn't warn you!!!

My best friend's wedding but it is the bride that I want!!!

Akshaya Kamath is my oldest and dearest friend in the world. I flew specially to India for her wedding. I always thought I could have her all to myself till this dashing, charming, young man stole her away from me:( Its aight, my mama taught me to share. Well the truth is that I can't cause no drama because her grandma is the OG!!

Off to India!!!

Hey hey hey! I'm about to start packing my bags. Tomorrow I leave for India. I'm super excited as its been 4 months since I last saw my family. My family is totally unconventional from the idea you might have about an indian family. My dad is more gangsta than Snoop. He even has grills, well technically one silver cap for a lose tooth;) My mum is the cutest, prettiest mom ever and dances like an egg, not that I ever saw an egg dance but I imagine it to be very wobbly and last but not the least my selfless sister who would literally give me the clothes of her back but can also give a stare that will stop me cold in my tracks!! I love my family to death but, ofcourse, we all wear the I'M ALWAYS RIGHT badge so makes for some humourous arguments. So I'm sure I'm going to have mojo fun although the one spoiler of my trip is that korean lover can't come. He is busy doing something called work?? lol I kid... So stay tuned for all the fun and lots of pictures of food!!
P.S. For the person that emailed me for a video of me dancing indian style in indian clothes, I'm not sure that will happen. I'm too much of an Olive Oyl to pull of indian wear. Me in a sari brings to mind the same image as a tree trunk wrapped in a piece of cloth buuuuut still I will try my best to bring something to you(¨,)
